Theft at the Lonato Monopoly: a gang of professionals blocked nearby roads with stolen vehicles and fallen trees. In the early hours of March 14, around 4:30 AM, a group of at least seven individuals executed a bold heist at the cigarette depot on Via Rassica, using a stolen truck as a battering ram and obstructing the surrounding roads with other stolen vehicles and fallen trees. Despite the substantial damages, estimated in the tens of thousands of euros, the haul turned out to be relatively modest: cigarette cartons valued at no more than 15,000 euros.
The thieves’ operation was incredibly swift; after breaching three gates in just a few minutes, they loaded the boxes onto a stolen van and quickly fled towards Mantova. The carabinieri patrol that arrived on the scene found the road blocked by vehicles abandoned by the criminals, allowing them to escape. Investigations are currently underway by the local carabinieri and the Scientific Investigation Section of Brescia, who are examining the vehicles left at the scene for any potential evidence to identify the members of the gang.
