Recent data on the economic performance of Brescia’s tertiary sector, presented by Confcommercio Brescia, highlights significant concerns regarding safety and generational transition. The survey, conducted in collaboration with Format Research, revealed that over a third of companies have perceived a deterioration in safety over the past six months, with a peak of 42.1% for those located in the municipality of Brescia. Additionally, 37% of entrepreneurs find themselves in the challenging position of considering the closure or sale of their business in the coming years, a figure that exceeds 45% in the city.

Despite these challenges, confidence in business performance remains above the national average. However, nearly 80% of companies are seeking financing primarily for liquidity and debt restructuring, indicating a low propensity for investment. The balance between new businesses and closures in the sector continues to be negative, with a loss of 1,551 companies projected for 2024. President Massoletti emphasized the importance of developing active policies to support entrepreneurs in addressing these issues and enhancing the contribution of the tertiary sector to the Lombardy economy.
