This morning, around 11 AM, a passerby discovered the body of a woman approximately 70 years old floating just a few meters from the shore at the Spiaggia degli Ulivi. An alert was immediately raised, and members of the Coast Guard arrived on the scene, followed by the carabinieri and local police. Despite resuscitation efforts, the arrival of emergency medical services confirmed the woman’s death.
The causes of this tragic event remain unclear; there are speculations of an extreme act or an accident, but currently, all avenues are under investigation. The mayor of Toscolano Maderno, Chiara Chimini, arrived at the site to monitor the situation’s developments. The woman’s car was found nearby, containing a bag with documents that allowed for her identification. Additionally, the Coast Guard conducted searches to ensure that no other individuals were in distress in the area.
