The intervention at the Salionze dam marks a significant evolution after 70 years, with the replacement of the sluice gates that regulate the flow of water into the Mincio River. In operation since 1960, this barrier has seen the installation of new gates, measuring 10 meters in length, approximately 3 meters in height, and weighing 180 quintals, which will ensure a more precise and manageable regulation of water derivations. The previous gates, installed between 1942 and 1948, had already contributed to transforming the lake into a controllable reservoir.
The construction of the Salionze facility has played a crucial role in the management of water resources, allowing for effective control of water flows and contributing to the ecological safety of the area. With these new structures, a significant improvement in the management capacity of the local water system is expected.
