Alto Garda: Two Austrian Climbers Rescued After 11-Hour Operation on Monte Brento On Monday, March 31, a particularly complex rescue operation took place on Monte Brento, where Alpine Rescue operators worked for over eleven hours to recover two Austrian climbers aged 33 and 40. The alert was triggered around 9:40 AM when the climbing team contacted the Emergency Number 112 after one of the members fell approximately ten meters, sustaining serious leg injuries. Rescuers were transported by helicopter to the base of the cliff, but adverse conditions made it impossible to reach them from above.

After determining that an aerial intervention was not feasible, a team consisting of three technicians and a medical professional ascended from the bottom and reached the two climbers around 4:20 PM. After administering first aid to the injured climber, they had to wait for the wind to die down before the helicopter could finally rescue them at 7:05 PM. The transport to Santa Chiara Hospital in Trento was carried out via winch, while the three technicians were retrieved at 8:40 PM after numerous attempts complicated by the weather conditions. This operation demonstrated the efficiency and preparedness of Alpine Rescue in managing critical situations in the mountains.
