Traffic in chaos: it’s madness on the Gardesana. And the worst is yet to come. Starting this month, the road that runs alongside the lake will be subject to alternating one-way traffic for an entire month, further exacerbating the already critical situation of traffic in Limone. Long queues have become a constant on the lakeshore, with congestion intensifying in the first tunnels north of Gargnano and significant slowdowns near the Toscolano Maderno promontory and at the traffic light in Gardone Riviera. The closure of the Forra due to landslides has further complicated the traffic situation, forcing commuters and tourists to use the provincial road 115, leading to additional disruptions at the intersection with the state road.
To try to alleviate these issues, the Municipality of Limone has decided to invest in the construction of a roundabout at the intersection of the 45 bis and Sp115. Mayor Franceschino Risatti has stated the intention to complete the works by the end of the tourist season, aiming to improve traffic conditions in anticipation of the expected increase during the summer months. May is therefore shaping up to be a challenging month for those traveling along the Gardesana, already strained by alternating one-way traffic due to the cycling path construction; tourists are now faced with endless queues instead of enjoying the breathtaking views.
