On the night between Sunday, May 11, and Monday, May 12, an attempted burglary occurred at the Lidl supermarket on Via Bernolini in Castel Goffredo. A group of thieves, after planning their action, managed to gain access to the technical areas of the building, specifically the boiler room, where they drilled a hole in the wall to reach the administrative offices. However, their criminal plan was thwarted by the activation of the security system, which released a thick cloud of artificial smoke and forced the culprits to flee empty-handed.
The Carabinieri from the Castel Goffredo station responded to the scene to carry out the necessary investigations and begin the process of identifying those responsible for the attempted burglary. At this time, no estimate has been provided regarding the structural damage caused during the break-in, but efforts are ongoing to clarify the events.
