A new call for public housing has been published in Area 11 Garda, which includes municipalities from Bedizzole to Valvestino, but the housing situation remains critical. With only 33 apartments available out of 802 registered, the housing demand in Desenzano is classified as “high,” with 626 requests for just 30 units in 2024. Similar situations are reported in Salò and other neighboring municipalities, where demand far exceeds supply.
The Housing Supply Plan highlights the increasing difficulty in finding accommodation, especially in Desenzano and Salò, where the rental market is complicated by the presence of tourist contracts. Only six municipal housing units are planned for Desenzano and two for Salò in 2025, while the Aler housing units distributed in the area do not meet the needs expressed by families. Applications can be submitted from May 19 to June 23 through the Regional Housing Services portal, with priority given to economically disadvantaged households and large families.
