A healthcare mobilization took place on Monday, May 19, from 3 to 4 PM, in front of the municipality of Sirmione, where the Committee “Let’s Keep the Hospital of Desenzano at Montecroce” organized a sit-in to request a public meeting with the president of the assembly of mayors, Luisa Lavelli. The protest stems from the persistent silence of the mayor regarding the three formal requests made by the Committee, which represents over 8,000 citizens who signed a petition to keep the Desenzano Hospital operational.
The Committee expressed strong discontent towards local politicians, accusing them of ignoring the community’s concerns and failing to respond to crucial questions about healthcare in the area. The mobilization aims to amplify the citizens’ voices and highlight the need for direct dialogue with institutions to discuss the future of the hospital and public health in the region.
