The Alto Garda Museum and the civic library of Riva del Garda are organizing an intriguing initiative for Sunday, May 25, dedicated to the Jewish history of the city and the printing house of Jacob Macaria in the 16th century. The event will feature a dialogue at 3:30 PM in the library, led by Dr. Ambra Suriano and Dr. Davide D’Amico, who will delve into the significance of the local Jewish community. Following this, at 4:30 PM, there will be a guided tour titled “Museum in the City,” led by historian Maria Luisa Crosina, who will take participants through the historic center of Riva del Garda to explore traces of the Jewish presence.
Admission to the event is free and provides an opportunity to discover lesser-known aspects of local history. This day represents a unique occasion to deepen the understanding of the culture and traditions associated with the Jewish community in the region, contributing to the preservation of Riva del Garda’s historical memory.
