A check by the NAS revealed irregularities in accommodation facilities in Castiglione, uncovering serious issues related to food safety in a family-run trattoria-hotel. During the inspection, officials discovered that the owners, a 73-year-old man and a 74-year-old woman, had failed to report guest information to the Mantova Police Headquarters, thereby violating safety and public order regulations. Additionally, significant shortcomings in health and safety standards were identified, including the absence of fire prevention systems and plans for monitoring biological risk.
In the kitchen, the situation worsened further with the presence of approximately 20 kilograms of expired meat and fish, which were promptly destroyed for hygienic reasons. The owners of the establishment have been referred to the Judicial Authority and fined a total of 12,000 euros. These events highlight the importance of vigilance in the hospitality sector to ensure adequate standards of safety and public health.
