Carabinieri Operation: Arrests for Sale of Cars with Tampered Mileage Counters

Joint operation by the Carabinieri of the Codogno, Salò, and Desenzano Companies led to the arrest of seven individuals in Padenghe and Montichiari. They are accused of being part of a criminal organization involved in the sale of cars with counterfeit mileage. The seized vehicles had been tampered with to reduce the mileage, making them more attractive on the market. According to the investigation, the suspects allegedly altered the mileage of over 20 vehicles, increasing it to over 200,000 kilometers, triple the original data. The crimes were committed between January 2021 and May 2022. The arrested individuals are now awaiting criminal trial.
