Castel Goffredo: Drug-Sniffing Dog Leads to Arrest of 20-Year-Old Dealer. In recent days, suspicious activity around the home of a twenty-year-old caught the attention of the local Carabinieri, who requested a search warrant from the Public Prosecutor’s Office in Mantova. The operation involved Gina, a drug-sniffing dog from the Canine Unit of Orio al Serio, who promptly indicated the presence of illegal substances. During the search, approximately 16 grams of hashish divided into 14 doses were found, along with two precision scales, packaging materials, and 435 euros in cash.
The young man was arrested on charges of possession with intent to distribute drugs and was subsequently placed under house arrest pending a direct court hearing. The judge at the Tribunal of Mantova validated the arrest but decided to release the young man until further developments; the hearing has been postponed to a date yet to be determined.
