The sporting event “Swimtheisland” in Sirmione is set to engage 1,200 swimmers in the open waters of Lake Garda, with the event scheduled for Saturday, June 21, and Sunday, June 22. Organized by TriO Events in collaboration with the Municipality of Sirmione and arena, the event will feature participants from as many as 14 nations, with the starting point and race village located at the Muse beach, beneath the Scaliger Castle. The first day will be marked by various competitions, including the Kid’s the island for the younger participants and the Short Swim (1,800m), while Sunday will culminate with the Classic (3,200m), which will traverse the entire peninsula.
The Mayor of Sirmione, Luisa Lavelli, emphasized that this event not only promotes swimming in Lake Garda but also contributes to the sustainable tourism of the area. Andrea Rosa from TriO Events highlighted the significance of the unique experience offered by the event, allowing participants to swim in an extraordinary natural setting.
