A windsurfer was rescued today, Saturday, June 14, 2025, after sustaining an injury due to an impact with the boom while drifting approximately 500 meters off the coast of the municipality of Torbole. The incident was noticed around 3:00 PM by the crew of the Garda Lake Coast Guard patrol boat CP 605, which promptly reached the athlete in distress. After being transferred onto the patrol boat, the windsurfer was taken to shore, where the Coast Guard Operations Center requested the intervention of an ambulance to provide the necessary care.
The unfortunate individual received assistance from the medical personnel who arrived and was subsequently transferred to the hospital in Arco for further examinations. The operation highlighted the synergy among the rescue forces on the lake, thanks to the Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2018 between the Prefectures of Brescia and Verona and other local authorities, which ensures effective coordination in lake rescue operations.
