A serious road accident occurred today, July 10, 2024, on the SR249 Gardesana Orientale in the Paradiso area of Peschiera del Garda. A public bus operated by Atv with 13 occupants had a head-on collision with a Fiat Doblò around 1:00 p.m. Fortunately, none of the bus passengers were injured, while the four occupants of the car sustained various non-serious injuries and were taken to Borgo Trento hospital; one of them was transferred by helicopter due to facial trauma.
The accident saw the bus driver attempting an emergency maneuver to avoid a more severe impact, ending up on the roadside and blocking the exits. The Bardolino Fire Brigade intervened to free the passengers by breaking the windows. The Legnago Traffic Police and the Peschiera Local Police managed the traffic during the rescue operations, which required a temporary road closure.
