Adolfo Penocchio Exhibits Watercolors of Valtenesi and Calvagese
The great painter of Valtenesi steps out into the spotlight once again: despite some significant health issues, Adolfo Penocchio remains very active, and this evening he will inaugurate an exhibition of watercolors at the oratory of Carzago, dedicated to Calvagese and the entire landscape of Valtenesi.
Preview of the exhibition and the event in Salò
All of this is in anticipation of a major event where he will be the protagonist in Salò starting from April 6th for a month, until May 6th. During this period, the entire collection of watercolor works on the «Divina Commedia» (over 150 drawings) will be exhibited for the first time in Salò. This is a highly ambitious project that Penocchio has worked feverishly on in recent years.
The vision created by the master is a visionary «Commedia» in a nearly pop style, where between paradise and hell, icons of the 20th century such as Fellini and the Beatles also appear. Called by the artist himself «The Divine Scene», the work has recently been published in a volume outside the commercial market, printed by Intergreen.
It will finally be accessible to everyone thanks to the Salò initiative.
Charitable activities and works on display
Meanwhile, Penocchio has been involved by the parish of Carzago and the oratory group in this charity exhibition, which will also be open tomorrow and next weekend.
Several works that the master decided to create essentially exclusively for this exhibition will be on display, with funds raised during the event to support the activities of the oratory.
For example, visitors will be able to see as many as 25 watercolors depicting the landscape of Carzago, created in recent weeks.
This demonstrates that the now almost seventy-year-old master from Polpenazze, despite his vision problems, truly cannot stay away from painting.
