African Raptors Make Debut at Bussolengo’s House of Dragons Pavilion

Two African prototters, one of only six fish species worldwide capable of breathing both air and water, have been introduced at Parco Natura Viva in Bussolengo. They are housed in the House of Dragons pavilion, which features animals with extraordinary evolutionary adaptations.

These elongated fish can survive long periods without water by burrowing into mud and entering a state called estivation, during which they breathe air through their lungs. The new arrivals expand the park’s collection of species showcasing ancient survival strategies, joining animals like giant anacondas, giant otters, and Komodo dragons.
