A 20-year-old man has been arrested by the Carabinieri in Bardolino for aggravated theft and damage after stealing three bottles of whisky from a supermarket. The incident occurred last night when the military was alerted by a citizen and found the young man hiding in a trash bin, with a backpack containing the stolen goods.
Investigations revealed that the young man and an accomplice had entered the supermarket by forcing open the entrance doors and damaging the self-checkout machines in an attempt to steal them. The total damages caused amount to approximately €5,000. Following his arrest, the young man was placed under house arrest pending a direct trial, during which the judge validated the arrest and imposed precautionary measures.
