Agraria Reports High-Quality Grape Harvest for Premium Wine Production

The Agraria confirms the impressions and data regarding the 2000 viniculture, which promises a wine to remember. So far, the selected white grapes have arrived, based on quality and terrain: pinot, chardonnay, a bit of moscato, a bit of müller, all high-quality varieties vinified with the care and attention they deserve.

The quantity produced per hectare is slightly lower compared to 1999. The total amount delivered to the social winery will still be more than 8,000 quintals last year: the closure of a private winery in Nago redirected additional members to the Agraria.

The grapes are beautiful, perfectly healthy, and sweet: therefore, all the conditions are in place to produce a wine of great quality. Starting next week, the tone will change. When all the selected whites are pressed, it will be the turn of the mixed whites, intended for a lower-quality production.

Processing stages and final products

Meanwhile, towards the last days, the first reds will be processed, initially only to verify the sugar level resulting from different vineyard positions. The schedule for the reds, following a sequence that considers the characteristics of the varieties, will be ready in a few days: there is not only Merlot, even if that grapevine, in the production of the Agraria, has managed to earn sincere appreciation from clients over the years, not only domestically.

The policy pursued for several years now by the cantina sociale rivana is yielding positive results. It aims to discourage the delivery of mixed reds, wines without history and with limited market, and therefore paid very little to producers who, on the other hand, can still command a remunerative price for quality production (even considering the market difficulty reported for apples).

The indications for the reds are consistent: the most important factor is the excellent quality of the grapes, perfect bunches, free from the mold problems caused in previous years by excessive rainfall. The ripening, already well underway, promises to approach perfection thanks to the lowering temperatures during nighttime and early mornings.
