Albisano’s Art Exhibition Honors Italian Journalist Sandro Bevilacqua
In Albisano, set against an extraordinarily beautiful backdrop, an olive grove will come to life, offering numerous local and non-local artists (among them, we mention Paola Bozzini, Jannette Castioni, Christopher Demaitre, Sílvia Frildini, John Melecsinsky, Sara Tagliente, Stefano Tedeschi, Roberto Renzini, Rossana Zen, etc.) the opportunity to participate in a contemporary themed exhibition, which will take place over four Sundays: July 23, August 6, August 20, and September 10.
The event has been conceived and organized by the Triveneto Beni Culturali association, with the primary aim of paying homage to a significant figure in Italian journalism and literature: the Veronese Sandro Bevilacqua. His work has garnered admiration and approval even from the eminent poet Ungaretti, who praised him for his ability to craft fairy tales.
Owners and objectives of the event
The current proprietors of this enchanted area are Paola Bevilacqua, daughter of the literary figure and painter, and Giovanni Masciola, a writer. They have expressed the wish to transform it into a “natural art gallery,” from which one can enjoy an extraordinary view of Lake Garda, an inspiring panorama that has featured in many poems by their illustrious relative.
“We will inaugurate the Sandro Bevilacqua Artists’ Garden,” says Marina Ansoldi, president of the association. “It will open on Saturday with a presentation organized on-site, featuring numerous personalities from the literary and artistic worlds, who will also outline our future plans. Starting next year, we intend to launch a national competition with a prize named after the writer.” Among the guests will be the sculptor Marina Ansoldi, the painter Paola Bevilacqua, and the painter Alessandro Caronne.
