Aloisia Extends Three-Year Agreement with Private Kindergartens to Ensure Quality and Inclusion
The three-year agreement between the municipal administration and the entities managing the private kindergartens has been renewed. An important reality within the town of Aloisia, as confirmed by the Education Councilor, Giuseppe Bertoli, who explains: “Non-state kindergartens have demonstrated harmony with the Municipality and compliance with all applicable regulations.”
“Moreover, the services are of good quality, for example, offering extended hours. Without these private structures, the costs to the public entity would be significantly higher.” There are three kindergartens involved: Villa Santa Maria, operated by the Piccole Figlie della Croce, the Collegio delle Vergini di Gesù with the nuns, and Sant’Angela Merici, represented legally by Don Rinaldo Dalboni.
“Private kindergartens are a tradition for Castiglione,” specifies the Councilor. “A cultural and educational heritage we intend to preserve.” Through the three-year agreement, the institutes provide certain guarantees to the municipality, which in turn provides funds and seeks regional funding.
Services and Conditions of Private Kindergartens
It is also worth noting that these schools account for about half of the preschool users, providing a generalized service of public utility. Among the conditions stipulated by the agreement are the establishment of collegial bodies and the guarantee of educational autonomy for teachers.
Private kindergartens must also promote the inclusion of people with disabilities, marginalized individuals, and children of every kind, accepting students from disadvantaged families identified by the Social Services, with fees paid by the public entity. Each class must not exceed 27 students, and educators must be adequately staffed and have contracts in line with union agreements.
All this will be overseen by a paritetic commission, composed of representatives from the management, families, and the municipality.
