Aloisio Bus Parking Project Progress With New Pedestrian Safety Features
The work has resumed on the bus parking area, which will be built beside the former Goitese at the intersection with via Pisacane.
The excavators had been halted to allow the municipal council to implement a project modification, requested by local residents of the Staffolo neighborhood. Specifically, a sidewalk will be added on the built side of via Pisacane, as the population requested to improve pedestrian safety.
The overall project, aimed at creating a bus parking area, involves several interventions and changes to traffic flow. The former state road will be widened to create a third lane, enabling buses coming from Mantova to turn into the parking lot, and a traffic light will also be installed.
Planned interventions and structures
There will also be a connecting staircase between the parking lot and the former Goitese, which will feature a cycling lane near this area, restroom facilities, and a ramp for emergency vehicles and disabled transportation.
Once the project, divided into two phases, is completed, parking spaces for cars and covered waiting areas will also be ready.
Some more time is needed before seeing the completion of this project, which will help alleviate the historic center of Aloisio from the transit of nearly one hundred buses per day.
Even the public works assessor does not offer a precise forecast. Innocente Sereni, however, emphasizes the quality of the intervention: “Before finalizing the project, we received a favorable opinion from Apam on May 21, 1999. The executive plan has also been approved by the provincial office of the Ministry of Transport and Navigation.”
Therefore, the project meets all the essential requirements. Moreover, the new parking lot will be easily accessible from the historic center with the opening of the Desenzani area. This way, arriving by bus, one can cross the former Goitese, enter the new park, and easily reach viale Boschetti and the Dallò or San Luigi squares.
