Alpini Gathering in Manerba: Parade and Celebrations at Monte Suello

Yesterday in Manerba, the official opening of the 71st gathering of the Monte Suello section took place, marking the start of the eagerly awaited Adunata Alpini. Today, Sunday, a grand parade will commence from Crociale, featuring the participation of over a thousand Alpini and numerous spectators. Following Saturday’s ceremonies, which included a triangular football match won by the Brescia section, the program calls for a gathering at 9 AM on Via Gassman, with the long parade set to begin shortly after 10 AM. The route will traverse the main streets of the town, culminating on Via Atleti Azzurri d’Italia, where speeches will be delivered and the traditional handover of the “stecca” will take place to the organizing groups for next year’s gathering in Salò.

The parade’s arrival is expected at 11:30 AM; however, it should be noted that there will be traffic and parking restrictions in the Crociale area until 11 AM and in other central streets and squares until 2 PM. Yesterday afternoon, rehearsals were held with a procession from Piazza San Bernardo to Montinelle, concluding at the square in Solarolo in honor of the fallen. Mayor Flaviano Mattiotti emphasized the importance of the event for Manerba and the Valtenesi, expressing hope that the municipality and its citizens will honor this significant occasion. The Monte Suello section is one of three Alpine sections in the province of Brescia, alongside those of Brescia and Valcamonica.
