Anais Lee Performs with Nehar Shalom Ensemble in Riva Concert
Sou soprano Anais Lee will perform in Riva next Tuesday, April 17th. She will be accompanied by the Nehar Shalom Ensemble in a concert scheduled to take place at the Conservatorio auditorium, beginning at 9 p.m.
The program opens with a solo clarinet piece by Renato Chiesa, “Berakah,” in its world premiere: the Hebrew title means “blessing” and is significant as the starting point of a journey that chronologically revisits the only frequently performed work in this concert, Max Bruch‘s “Kol Nidrei,” composed in 1881 for cello and orchestra.

With “Canti dei Pionieri” (Songs of the Pioneers), the perspective shifts dramatically: it features some of the songs that accompanied the long and troubled Jewish settlement in Palestine.
Next are “Poems of the Sea” for solo piano by Ernst Bloch. The “Kaddish” by Ravel for cello and piano will bring the audience closer to the atmosphere most aligned with Jewish culture.
The concert program concludes with two large works: “Three Songs Without Words” by Paul Ben-Haim and “Zibn Yiddishe Lider” (Seven Jewish Songs) by Renato Chiesa.
