Antonella Elia Hosts 11th Festival del Garda Featuring Verona Contestants
Changing Hosts at Cantalago. After Susanna Huckstep and Gloria Zanin, Miss Italy in 1984 and 1992 respectively, it is now the turn of the well-known television personality Antonella Elia. The popular showgirl will host this evening at 9:30 p.m. in Piazzale Porto just outside the Castello the eleventh stage of the Festival del Garda.
The competition features as always six contestants in the interpretive section: Umberto Baldissera from Verona (My Way by Frank Sinatra), Laura Chiari from Manerbio (Nessun dolore by Lucio Battisti), Siria Sbardolini from Brescia (Luce by Elisa), Damiano Di Giovanni from Verona (L’acrobata by Michele Zarillo). For the original songs category, a head-to-head challenge between Massimo Marchesi from Verona (Cambiare nel tempo) and Veronica Marchi, also from Verona (Linea 31).
Participants and Show
Completing the show are comedian Lucio Gardin, the dance troupe of Nando De Bortoli, the Vicentine singer Paolo Fin (Il grillo assassino), the productions from Cantalago by Elisa Antonelli (Innamorata ancora), and Diletta Orlandi from Desenzano (Rain on the Heart).
The Festival del Garda is sponsored by the Veneto and Lombardia Regions, the Autonomous Province of Trento, the Garda Community, the tourism department of the Province of Verona and Brescia, and in collaboration with the Apt 12 Riviera degli Olivi and the Riviera dei Limoni.
There will also be a dedicated corner for social causes, featuring the sale of the CD containing the best musical productions of the Festival. The proceeds from the sale will be donated to the Salomè project for the adoption of children at a distance in Ambodivona in Madagascar.
