The story of Enzo Fattori, a retiree from Desenzano del Garda known for his voluntary efforts in cleaning the beaches, takes a new turn. On April 17, Fattori was fined 500 euros for removing a plastic fender that had washed ashore at Feltrinelli Beach. This incident occurred in violation of a municipal ordinance prohibiting the collection, removal, and relocation of any objects along the shoreline. The story, made public by Fattori himself, has garnered significant media attention, even involving television programs such as **Le Iene**.

On October 1, the municipality issued an injunction requiring the payment of the fine within 30 days. However, Fattori, supported by many fellow citizens, decided to appeal. The local community has also organized a fundraising campaign to assist him, demonstrating their appreciation for his ongoing environmental commitment.

The hearing for the appeal is set for April 6, 2026, nearly two years after the incident. In the meantime, Fattori, backed by the former president of the Desenzano City Council, Rino Polloni, intends to file a request for a temporary suspension of the fine’s enforcement, also seeking the annulment of the ordinance. The case has sparked discussions among city council members, particularly among those in the minority.

Should the appeal be successful, Fattori has stated that the funds raised from citizens will be donated to the **Centro Aiuto alla Vita** in Rivoltella, as a gesture of gratitude and solidarity. However, it will take about a year and a half to learn the outcome of this matter.
