Apt del Garda Trentino Sees 2.7 Million Tourists in 2001, Boosted by Promotions

The total number of tourist arrivals within the scope of the Apt del Garda Trentino at the end of 2001 will be around 2.7 million, half of which are from Riva. The president Enio Meneghelli announced this, also expressing satisfaction because the 5% increase is evenly distributed across all six municipalities of the Busa.

Tourism Trends and Promotional Policies

The “season” now lasts almost 10 months, allowing hoteliers to provide their professionally best employees with year-round employment, avoiding the burdensome commutes of those who, to support their families, would spend a summer season at the lake and a winter season in the mountains.

Another positive element: 10 years ago, 70% of the guests were German-speaking; now, as a result of a promotional policy set and implemented by the local Apt, the presence of English visitors has increased to up to 30%.

And these are good clients: they come in May and October as well, stay at least a week, and are well received by operators who have undertaken a sort of reconversion of their staff, concerning language skills but also the customs of the subjects of Queen Elizabeth II.
