Arco Highlights Olive Oil and Biodiversity at Slow Food Day 2026
Slow Food Day 2026, organized by the Environment Department of the Municipality of Arco in conjunction with Slow Food Trentino, will take place on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at the Casinò di Arco. The event, dedicated to extra-virgin olive oil, extensive olive farming, and biodiversity, begins at 9:30 with a gathering at the casino veranda for a guided walk led by naturalist Alessandro Marsilli to explore olive grove biodiversity and related ecosystem benefits.
In the afternoon, from 15:30 at the Casinò, the program includes the presentation of “Indagine naturalistica sulla biodiversità negli uliveti dell’Alto Garda” by Maurizio Odasso (Studio PAN) for the Parco Fluviale della Sarca, followed by Michele Morten (Fondazione Edmund Mach) on olive grove management. The Slow Food Guide to Extra Virgin Olive Oils 2026 will be presented with regional president Tommaso Martini and territorial coordinator Meri Ruggeri. From 15:00, workshops will include “Sommelier dei legumi,” the Slow Food Community stand for the enhancement of the Alto Garda Bresciano lemon grove landscape, and the Idrosommelier workshop by MUSE with tastings and participation of Alto Garda producers; attendance is free, subject to registration.
