Arco Reopens Sarca Bike Path with New Distance Markers for Cyclists

The bike path along the Sarca, from via Pomerio to the river mouth, is finally passable. It has not been accessible since it was interrupted several years ago, due to the construction of the bypass bridge and the repair of a section near the industrial zone, which was eroded by the river’s flood last autumn.

Truthfully, some finishing touches and paving near the new road crossing are still missing, but in these days of early spring, crowds of cyclists are already using it.

The environmental councilor of Arco, Fabrizio Miori, has decided to increase the visibility of the bike path. He has agreed with the Province restoration service to soon install «distance markers».

Every 50 meters, poles will be placed indicating the fractions of a kilometer and mile. These will assist the many runners who use the path for training.
