Arrest in Castelnuovo: 38-Year-Old Held After Bus Harassment

A 38-year-old man was arrested in Castelnuovo del Garda on Wednesday, 2 September, after two girls reported that he molested one of them on a scheduled bus from Sandrà to Castelnuovo del Garda, insulted her friend when she tried to calm him, and then poured beer from a can over her head. Carabinieri from the Radiomobile unit of the Peschiera del Garda Company reached the stopped vehicle and identified the suspect, who was reportedly highly agitated due to alcohol abuse.

During identification and transfer to a security cell, the man allegedly threatened and assaulted the officers, attempted to evade checks, and damaged the service vehicle’s window. After Verona’s public prosecutor was informed, he was arrested on charges of resisting and threatening a public official and damaging property. On 3 September, a judge validated the arrest and ordered him to report to the judicial police, postponing the hearing to October 2026; the presumption of innocence remains in place.
