In the late afternoon of Wednesday the 13th, the Carabinieri of the Radiomobile Section of the Verona Company responded to a call to 112 regarding a dispute within a condominium on Via Valeggio. Upon arrival, the officers found a visibly intoxicated man, and shortly thereafter, a 25-year-old woman, also under the influence, assaulted both the man and the Carabinieri while attempting to separate the parties involved. Despite efforts to restrain her, the woman struck the officers with punches and bites, injuring one of them on the thumb.
After a prolonged physical confrontation, the woman was arrested for violence, bodily injury, and aggravated resistance to a public official. During transport to the station, she continued to threaten the officers and falsely claimed to be pregnant. A subsequent medical examination revealed no pregnancy but confirmed her positive for drugs and an alcohol intoxication level of 2.29 g/l. The arrest was formalized, and today the woman appeared before the Verona court for a direct trial; the judge postponed the proceedings to October 9, 2025. The injured officer was given a prognosis of seven days.
