Two members of the supermarket gang have been arrested after attempting thefts in various locations, including Desenzano del Garda and Castiglione delle Stiviere. The prompt intervention of the carabinieri led to the arrest of a Romanian citizen on January 19, while he was trying to steal goods worth over 600 euros from the Lidl in Carpenedolo and the Conad in Castiglione. During the immediate trial, the man also admitted to a previous theft at the Esselunga in Desenzano del Garda, where he had stolen products worth around 500 euros.
Thanks to the actions of law enforcement, it was possible to recover the stolen goods and arrest other members of the gang involved in the thefts. The Romanian citizen opted for a plea deal, receiving a sentence of one year in prison, suspended. Investigations are ongoing to identify additional accomplices and prevent future theft incidents in the supermarkets of the area.
