Castelnuovo del Garda, ATM Explosion: Thieves Strike Over the Weekend Last weekend, an explosion shook the center of Castelnuovo del Garda when a group of thieves blew up the ATM at the Banco BPM branch located in Piazza Angelini. The blast occurred around 4 AM between Friday and Saturday, drawing the attention of residents who promptly contacted the carabinieri. Upon the arrival of law enforcement, some partially burned banknotes were discovered, indicating that the criminals managed to steal part of the cash.
Mayor Davide Sandrini stated that the municipal administration is actively collaborating with law enforcement in the ongoing investigation. Surveillance camera footage could prove crucial in identifying those responsible for the incident. After a forced closure on Monday, the branch has reopened regularly, but the restoration of the damaged ATM will require further technical interventions in the coming days.
