A dramatic suicide attempt involved a 22-year-old man in Lonato, where the young man set himself on fire inside his car. The incident was discovered by some passersby who, noticing a plume of smoke off the road near the Il Leone shopping center, promptly alerted the emergency services, initially thinking it was a traffic accident. Upon the arrival of medical personnel and the carabinieri, the scene proved to be much more serious: the young man had sustained severe burns on various parts of his body.
The medical team, arriving with an ambulance and a medical vehicle, immediately arranged for the emergency transport of the young man via air ambulance to the Burn Unit at Niguarda Hospital in Milan. Although his condition is critical due to the burns sustained, fortunately, he is not reported to be in life-threatening danger. Investigations are ongoing to clarify the reasons behind this tragic act.
