Avis and Aido Host Holiday Events in Garda During Christmas among Olives
Avis and Aido are prominent during the event “Christmas among the Olives.” The Gardesane sections of these organizations are organizing several interesting appointments during the holiday celebration. Avis is hosting today and tomorrow a phone card market exhibition aimed at schoolchildren in compulsory education.
Meanwhile, Aido is offering on December 21 a meeting with the Trentino Confraternity of Sporemine’s Potato Pie, located in Val di Non, and on the same day, a concert by the Petols, who perform Beatles songs in Venetian dialect.
The Phone Card Market Exhibition
“The phone card market exhibition,” says Graziano Lorenzini, representative of Avis di Garda, “is exclusively reserved for students in compulsory education, who will have the opportunity to exchange their collection cards, much like trading football stickers. The idea comes from one of our donors, Riccardo Pasotti, who is a collector.”
The exhibition will be open today and tomorrow from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, and tomorrow also from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM, at the Palazzo dei Congressi. Visitors will also be able to view some interesting collections of phone cards submitted by Provincia di Avis.
Young collectors who bring in the card from the farthest location, the card with the smallest print run, and the oldest card will receive prizes. Other awards will go to collections featuring the richest assortment of Italian and foreign cards. The award ceremony will take place tomorrow at 5:30 PM, in collaboration with the Municipal Administration.
Other Christmas Initiatives by Avis and Aido
The participation of Avis di Garda in “Christmas among the Olives” is not limited to the phone card exhibition. On December 19, it will also host a gastronomic event under a restaurant tent set up along the lakeside, in collaboration with the Mangia e Bevi association (the name says it all).
“We extended the invitation,” says Lorenzini, “to all blood donors in our province, regardless of their organization. It will essentially be a celebration of donors, not just a specific association.”
Similarly, Aido is organizing some noteworthy events. On Thursday, December 21, it will present a delightful gastronomic event celebrating Trentino tradition: speck, Grana cheese, and potato pie.
It will be possible to enjoy Trentino specialties from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM. Afterwards, attendees will move to the Palacongressi for a Beatles-style concert.
