Baldense Ecological Day Cleans 200 Tons of Waste from Mount Baldo
The eighth edition of the Baldense ecological day took place Sunday evening, with the participation and commitment of approximately two hundred volunteers from associations in the Baldo-Garda area. Organized by the Comunità montana del Baldo in collaboration with the Municipalities of Baldense and with cultural, environmental, and volunteer associations, the Forestry Service and Civil Protection, the event aimed to recover a long and diverse list of waste abandoned over recent decades in the forests and along the roads on the western slopes of Mount Baldo by residents and inattentive tourists.
Refrigerators, washing machines, and other used appliances, exhausted batteries, bottles and carboys, televisions, mattresses and metal beds, furniture parts, sanitary ware, combined with tons of waste of all kinds— including remnants of picnics from Sunday tourists— are part of the list of refuse recovered from the forests and along the roads during this ecological day.
Cleaning activities in woodland areas and along the roads
In the morning, gutters and forests along the main roads of the south-western Baldense area, such as the Caprino-Lumini and Castion-San Zeno routes, were cleaned of litter and waste. Additionally, rest areas and picnic spots like Sperane Pine Forest, Spighetta locality, Bre, Marciaga, and Volpara, as well as trails in the Vai Tesina area, between Campo and Passe, and in the Val Trovai, were also cleaned.
