Bardolino OKs urban planning tweak for new housing

Bardolino has adopted an urban planning variant that kicks off a project to build accessible housing for residents, young couples, families, self-sufficient elderly people, and local workers. The intervention will take place on a municipal area currently used as a seasonal parking lot, already developed and served by existing infrastructure, with the aim of improving a public asset and limiting new land consumption. The municipality links the initiative to rising property values and rental costs driven by the town’s tourism and economic appeal.

The adoption now starts the regional regulatory process, including the filing and publication of the planning documents and a window for residents to submit observations before final approval. The administration says the plan is the first step in a broader housing programme, also intended to cover the communities of Calmasino and Cisano.
