Bedizzole: shot the manager of a venue, the judge ruled it was not attempted murder. Roberto Broglio, a 39-year-old from Capriano del Colle, has been sentenced to 5 years and two months in prison for assault and drug dealing, following the events that took place in June 2023. The preliminary hearing judge at the Brescia court decided not to accept the prosecution’s request, which had sought a sentence of 10 years for attempted murder and illegal possession of a firearm. The man had been arrested after four months on the run following the attack at the Riverside bar in Bedizzole, where he shot at the managing brothers during an argument.
The defense argued that Broglio’s intention was to intimidate the manager to collect a debt related to drug dealing, using a blank-firing gun. However, the prosecution presented a different narrative, emphasizing the defendant’s intent to kill in order to retrieve a box containing drugs and weapons kept at the venue. Surveillance camera footage confirmed the incident, but the judge found the evidence insufficient to establish attempted murder.
