Beware of Fake Carabinieri Scams Targeting Garda Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Middle and Upper Garda area, proposing subscriptions to Arma magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

How to recognize scams and how to react

They often offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

So, be careful and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who, after obtaining the money, disappears and is no longer seen.
