Beware of Fraudulent Calls Pretending to Be Carabinieri or Police

They pose as Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, craftsmen, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to magazines from the force.

They are not military personnel, but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, police force, fire brigade, or municipal police.

How to Recognize Frauds and How to Respond

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement.

So be cautious and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri – simply dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after getting the money, disappear.
