Beware of Scammers Impersonating Carabinieri in Garda Regions

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda regions, offering subscriptions to the army‘s magazines.

They are not members of the military, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be associated with finance, the police, fire brigade, or the Comune (Municipal Authority).

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to the authoritative forces.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

after obtaining money, disappear from sight.
