Beware of Scammers Impersonating Police for Fraudulent Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate carabinieri when making phone contact with hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the middle and upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to Arma magazines.

They are not military personnel, but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or local police.

Beware of scams and how to respond

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or ones that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, exercise caution and immediately notify the carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after taking your money, disappear.
