The Autonomous Province of Trento has launched a new awareness campaign to promote sustainable mobility through bike lanes, urban cycling paths designed to ensure greater safety and coexistence between motorists and cyclists. The initiative was presented in the presence of President Maurizio Fugatti, world cycling champion Maurizio Fondriest, and other institutional representatives. Fugatti emphasized that bike lanes are not merely cycling paths, but a sign of mutual respect on the road, designed to encourage greater awareness among different road users.
The campaign includes six video spots and digital banners, aimed at informing citizens about the rules to follow on the road. The bike lanes, recently marked on over 30 kilometers of roads frequented by cyclists, were also created in memory of young cyclists Sara Piffer and Matteo Lorenzi. The project aims to monitor the effectiveness of the lanes throughout the autumn, with the possibility of further extending them if they prove effective in improving road safety for all users.
