Bike Path Violations and Safety Concerns at Nago-Torbole Beach
Moto or scooters, but also dashers when they are launched at full speed, are not appreciated at all on the bike paths.
In fact, the first would even be prohibited by law. Bicycles naturally belong in the right place, but it is quite common to encounter athletic riders, heads down on the handlebars, exceeding speed limits and resembling centaurs.
Situations along the bike path and sidewalk
This kind of encounter is a normal routine along the new section of sidewalk (which is officially a bike path), stretching from the paramassi to the Foci del Sarca.
And here, to be honest, we are at the beach. Which in other words means children, mostly, and also pedestrians and bathers relaxing, eager to enjoy the sun and the lake in peace without being run over by motorcycles.
Complaints and controls
The complaints about these breaches come from the same clients of the various campsites overlooking the coast.
Complaints are collected by the owners, who in turn pass them on, though it’s unclear to whom. In fact, the beach (Municipality of Nago-Torbole, inland from Arco) still does not have a clear designation.
Even though efforts have been made by the Municipality itself and by the campsite owners to ensure order and peace at night through private patrols.
As for cleaning, the Province still takes care of it. According to the protesters, daytime surveillance is missing.
The only ones who show up, if called, are the Arco municipal police, but obviously only within their jurisdiction.
