The bike sharing service introduced in the Garda Veronese area has reported a very positive initial outcome, with nearly 12,000 trips taken and over 6,000 users served just a few months after its launch. Active in the municipalities of Bardolino, Costermano, Garda, Lazise, and Castelnuovo, the service has helped eliminate approximately 2,400 car journeys and save around 440 liters of fuel. The average duration of the trips has been 13 minutes over an average distance of 2.1 kilometers.
These results highlight not only the community’s interest in sustainable mobility but also a significant positive environmental impact. The local administration has noted how the project provides residents and tourists with an economical and eco-friendly alternative for daily commuting, while also promoting a more conscious exploration of the inland areas. Many citizens have already taken advantage of the 50% discount offered to encourage the use of the service.
