Biotechnology Debates and Organic Market at Parco Bernini, July 29-30
Weekend of debates on biotechnology in Toscolano. The event will take place at Parco Bernini as part of the initiative «Biomaderno 2000», which on Saturday, July 29 and Sunday, July 30 will feature a farmers’ market of organic products and three highly topical conferences.
The first, scheduled for 6:30 PM on Saturday, will focus on bio-architecture and bio-construction, building methods that use less impactful materials than traditional concrete; the presentation will be given by architect Mauro Mariotto.
At 8:30 PM on Saturday, another seminar will address the topic of genetically modified organisms; speakers will include Giorgio Gregori from Greenpeace, Maurizio Gritta, president of the Lombard section of the Associazione Italiana Agricoltura Biologica, and Sara Pepi from the Ente Nazionale Protezione Animali. The Enpa representative will also give a presentation on Sunday evening at 8:30 PM.
This time, the focus will be on a social and health issue: sterilization and control of stray animals. The exhibition of packaged and naturally produced items will be open to the public from 9 AM to 10 PM.
The program also includes tastings and, in the afternoon, entertainment activities for children.
