A tragic event has occurred in Manerba, where the Coast Guard recovered the lifeless body of a man beneath the fortress. The discovery was made after the presence of a floating body was reported to the Coast Guard’s Operations Room. Immediately, the inflatable boat GC A58 was dispatched to the scene, and a rescue worker reached the individual, unfortunately confirming that there was nothing more to be done.
The body of the man, who appeared to be around 35 years old, was transferred to Torchio harbor, where local Carabinieri and Valtenesi police arrived to initiate the necessary investigations to clarify the circumstances surrounding the death. At this time, the possibility of an extreme act is not being ruled out. An ambulance from 118 was also present at the scene, with paramedics confirming the man’s death, whose identity remains unknown.
