They are not military personnel but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, firefighters, or municipal officers.

How to recognize scams and how to react

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri—simply dial 112— as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who, after obtaining the money, disappears.
