The Bonporti Conservatory, an institution of higher musical education with locations in Trento and Riva del Garda, recently welcomed the Minister of University and Research during a visit on April 4th. With over 600 students and an educational offering that spans from classical music to jazz, the conservatory stands out for its excellence in the Trentino educational landscape. During the visit, the minister explored the institute’s facilities, including the library named after “Vincenzo Gianferrari,” and attended a lesson by the orchestra performing the overture of Nabucco, underscoring the conservatory’s importance as a reference point for musical training.
Founded in 1980 but with roots tracing back to the 19th century, the Bonporti Conservatory is part of the AFAM institutions and offers degrees equivalent to those of universities. This year, two new doctoral programs have been introduced in collaboration with the University of Trento and the University La Sapienza of Rome, further expanding opportunities for young talents in the field of music. The conservatory is also involved in significant national projects that promote research on music and psychological well-being, thus solidifying its international reputation in the field of musical education.
